Equipment Protection Level (EPL)

The Equipment Protection Level consists of two letters. The first indicates the type of the explosive atmosphere of gas G, D for dust.

The actual level of protection is defined by the letters a, b or c. These letters are already used in some types of protection in order to identify the appropriate level of protection ia, ib, ic.

The icon for the device protection level will be appended to the existing standard identification – example: Exd IIC T4 Gb.
